Our Leather

We at Heart Dog Creations use only the highest quality leather. We use 9-11 ounce Latigo and some Bridle from a tannery within the US. We currently offer Black Bridle, English Tan Bridle, Medium Brown Bridle, Green Teal Bridle, Fuchsia Bridle. We are expanding to more colors as we are able.

Black - Our black is a 8/10oz Bridle that is soft and supple but subtantial.

Tan - Our tan is a 9/10oz Bridle that is a SOLID leather option. This leather has a substantial feel to it.

Brown- Our Brown is a 9/10oz Bridle that has a really nice feel to it with a great softness yet feels strong and substantial.

Fuchsia- One of our newest color options. The Fucshia is a 9/10oz Bridle that is similar to our other bridle leathers. Soft and supple. The color is stricken through for a nice beautiful edge when finished.

Green Teal- One of our newest color options. The Teal is a 8/9oz Bridle that is similar to our other bridle leathers. Soft and supple. The color is stricken through for a nice beautiful edge when finished.

L.E. Pink and L.E. Island Blue: These Limited Edition leather colors are a bit different than our regular stock colors. They are a Veg Tan leather vs our normal Latigo or Bridle. These leather colors are THINNER than our normal leather colors as well. They are still substantial and strong for dog collars, but might not be what you’re used to with our other colors. They are also not considered water safe, and CAN bleed the color when wet. Especially if you have a white dog.

How to care for your collar

To keep your leather dog collar at its best we recommend cleaning gently with a soft cloth and leather soap. Afterwards apply a small amount of Fiebings Leather Conditioner (best for black leather as it will darken leather) or Bick 4 (for any leathers that can darken in color) and rub in with a soft cloth. . If the collar becomes muddy, then clean with a damp soft cloth and allow to air dry.
